For children aged 4–5 years, we provide exciting activity-based Easter and summer day camps built around your little ones' development, preparing them for the first years of their schooling journey. A variety of activities and their own space

Our Easter and summer camps for 4-5 year olds are run as separate, smaller camps from those offered to older children. Each has its own space and equipment tailored to the needs of 4-5-year-olds to aid in their growth. We also keep in mind that Juniors like to have fun and try new things, but need more downtime to rebuild their energy reserves.

With this in mind, the Junior timetable alternates between energetic and quieter sessions. Through each session, we ensure that we emphasise care and stimulation through a variety of activities. Each week there’s a huge range of activities spread over 28 sessions lasting 50 minutes.

What are the staff ratios in your 4-5 age group?

Staff ratios for our 4-5 age group are 1:8, with group sizes up to 16 children.

Can my children/siblings aged 4-5 be placed in the same group?

We cannot move children who have not yet started Year 1 in school out of our Juniors Group due to Ofsted Regulations. If you have a specific request that falls outside of these arrangements, please contact us to discuss it further.

Will all children be dropped off at the same time and place?

Some of our locations have a separate sign in for our Junior groups. Please be sure to check your booking confirmation for sign in directions.

Is lunch provided on camp for my 4-5 year old?

Children need to bring a packed lunch and drink bottle each day. Please be aware that children on camp may have nut allergies – please avoid nuts and nut products in your child’s packed lunch.

What should my child aged 4-5 wear to camp?

As usual, clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for a variety of activities (including sports). In cooler or wet weather please ensure your child has an appropriate jacket as we do like to give children lots of fresh air fun!

What does the swimming session for 4-5 year olds consist of?

The swimming activity is a structured session. To start with, children will undergo a short assessment with the lifeguard to assess their swimming abilities. This consists of a swim across the width of the pool; children may use armbands or floats, which are provided. If the children have any swimming aid that they particularly like to use, they can of course bring this along with them.
The instructor coaches the children through working on skills and enjoying games together. There are always at least two members of staff during a swimming session – one of whom is a fully-trained lifeguard. For children under the age of 8, we will have one instructor in the pool and one on poolside, along with the lifeguard. You can update your child's swimming ability via your online account.

What if my child has difficulty settling on to their first Camp?

We understand that sending your child to Camp can seem like a daunting prospect, but we employ staff who are experienced at welcoming newcomers onto Camp. Most of the children will be coming on their own and will be looking to make friends, so you and your child are not alone! Each child will be assigned a group leader for the week who you can discuss any concerns with. You can contact the Camp Manager at any point during the day to check on how your child is doing.
