This half-term, step into a world of colour, imagination, and hands-on creation at Ultimate Art! Hosted in the inspiring, modern facilities of Headington Rye Oxford School, our brand-new 3-day holiday programme is tailor-made for young creatives aged 8–14 years.

Whether your child is a budding Picasso or just loves to get their hands messy, our programme offers a warm, fun, and highly supportive environment. Led by passionate art educators, we focus on self-expression, friendship, and exploring a diverse range of artistic disciplines.

What art activities will they be doing?

Day One🪴: A Bold Bright World (Artist Focus: Yayoi Kusama)

Inspiration: Discover the vibrant, dot-filled world of iconic contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama.

Mediums: Clay sculpture, painting, drawing, printing, and collage.

Activities:

  • Introduction to Kusama's life and signature style.
  • Designing and printing Polka Dot Pumpkin Artworks.
  • Painting Pop-Art Eye Mini Canvases.
  • Sculpting Clay Flowers (left to set and painted on Day 3!).
  • Creating 3D Potted Paper Flowers using paper sculpture and drawing.

📦 Take-Home Projects: Pop-art eye mini canvases, collaged & printed pumpkin art, potted paper flower sculptures, and clay flowers (collected Day 3).

Day Two🦊: Folk Art – A World of Animals (Focus: Traditional Folk Art)

Inspiration: Dive into classic, decorative folk art patterns and animal storytelling.

Mediums: Textiles, hand-sewing, block printing, drawing, and acrylic painting.

Activities:

  • Introduction to folk art patterns and animal motifs.
  • Painting base colors for free-standing Fox Artworks and bird designs.
  • Crafting Stitched & Embellished Butterflies inside embroidery hoops.
  • Adding fine-line drawings onto wooden bird hangers.
  • Designing custom block prints to create Folk Animal Art Prints.

📦 Take-Home Projects: Bird hangers, stitched & embellished butterfly embroidery hoops, folk animal prints, and painted free-standing fox artwork.

Day Three🎨: Playing with Colour & Shape (Artist Focus: Wassily Kandinsky)

Inspiration: Explore abstract expressionism, bold geometries, and color theory inspired by Wassily Kandinsky.

Mediums: Paint, drawing, fabric collage, and clay finishing.

Activities:

  • Painting and finishing the Clay Flowers from Day 1.
  • Introduction to Kandinsky’s abstract color and shape theories.
  • Painting base colors on custom picture frames.
  • Designing and painting Abstract Stretched Canvases.
  • Creating custom Kandinsky Fabric Tote Bags using fabric collage and drawing.
  • Assembling Abstract Collage Picture Frames.

📦 Take-Home Projects: Abstract canvases, custom tote bags, abstract picture frames, and finished clay flowers!
