A Summer of Success: Ofsted Inspections

After a successful summer full of fun and memorable experiences, we’re delighted to
have received such positive feedback from Ofsted. Inspectors visited six of our
camp locations this summer, with 100% of inspections achieving a positive outcome.
During each inspection, Ofsted spent time with our staff, observing activities and
speaking with our staff, children and parents to get a real feel for the experience at
each camp.

Six Camps, Six Positive Outcomes

We’re incredibly proud of the results, with all six locations achieving expected standards, and were judged ‘Strong’ in many areas. This is a wonderful achievement and a real reflection of the care, energy and dedication our teams bring to camp every day.

A Huge Thank You to Our Teams

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thanks to all our amazing Ultimate Activity Camps staff! Your enthusiasm, dedication and hard work create incredible experiences for children year after year.

Location Highlights

Here’s a closer look at some of the positive feedback from each of the six camps visited by Ofsted.

Headington School, Oxford
Ofsted said, "Staff take time to find out how children are feeling when they arrive and check they have everything they need, giving the children a sense of belonging from arrival. Children enjoy a broad range of age-appropriate activities and develop their knowledge, confidence, physical skills and independence through active and outdoor experiences.

Eaton House the Manor
Ofsted said, "Children arrive full of anticipation, as they eagerly wait to find out what fun activities they will be participating in. They are welcomed by passionate leaders and staff as they confidently separate from their parents and carers. Children are warmly greeted by other children on arrival. This makes them feel valued and develop a sense of belonging. Staff know the children well, and immediately engage them in experiences that interest them.’’

New Hall School, Chelmsford
Ofsted said, "During den building, children vote for their favourite idea and work together to create a pirate ship. They share imaginative ideas and respect each other's contributions. Children typically show enthusiasm and confidence when trying new activities and enjoy opportunities to work together and solve problems. Overall, children experience a positive, welcoming camp where they are safe, valued and well supported."

Shrewsbury House School, Surbiton
Ofsted said, "Children enjoy active days, while quieter choices remain available. They learn about sun safety, hydration, healthy eating, personal safety and managing their emotions. Children's medical and personal care needs are supported discreetly and with respect for children's dignity. Children are safe, known and valued and participate in camp life with growing confidence and independence and a secure sense of belonging."

Bedford Modern School
Ofsted said, "On arrival, children are warmly greeted by staff. They provide reassurance to children who attend for the first time or who show hesitation, taking time to find out about their interests and preferred activities. Children benefit from a wide range of opportunities to be physically active. Staff organise activities such as mini-Olympics and team games, explaining the rules and expectations. "

Dragon School, Oxford
Ofsted said, "Children enjoy attending this well-organised summer camp. They feel safe, settled and welcomed because staff build warm relationships with them quickly. Children take part enthusiastically in a broad range of activities, including swimming, tennis, art, trampolining, storytelling, imaginative treasure hunts, group games and outdoor play."
