Supporting Children During Mental Health Week and Beyond
Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing shouldn’t be limited to one week of the year, but Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 gives us a powerful opportunity to reflect, raise awareness and take action. At Ultimate Activity Camps, we’re proud to stand alongside YoungMinds to support children’s mental health during this national moment and throughout the year, helping families feel informed, supported and confident.
Supporting Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, Together with YoungMinds
Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 highlights the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces where children can feel understood and able to thrive. This year’s theme, “This Is My Place”, focuses on belonging, both at home, at school and in the communities where children play, learn and grow.
At Ultimate Activity Camps, this message strongly resonates with us. When we asked our families what mattered most to them, 45% of Ultimate Activity Camp parents told us their main concern was their child’s mental health. That insight made one thing clear: supporting children’s wellbeing must be central to everything we do.
Why This Matters
Children today are navigating growing pressures, socially, academically and digitally and from an increasingly young age. Children’s Mental Health Week exists to encourage open conversations, reduce stigma and remind us that positive mental health is built through connection, confidence and supportive environments, not just during times of difficulty, but every day.
The 2026 theme, “This Is My Place”, reflects the importance of safe, inclusive spaces where children feel accepted, valued and able to be themselves… something we actively strive to create at camp.
Our Partnership with YoungMinds
In response to what families told us, we’re proud to partner with YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity supporting children and young people’s mental health. This partnership enables us to share expert guidance, trusted resources and practical support with parents and caregivers, helping them better understand their child’s emotional needs.
Supporting Wellbeing Through Experience

At Ultimate Activity Camps, we believe mental wellbeing is strengthened through experience, connection and confidence. Our camps provide children aged 4–14 with enriching, active opportunities that support both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Children benefit from:
- Screen-free environments, encouraging presence, focus and genuine connection
- Fresh air and physical activity, supporting mood, energy and emotional regulation
- Friendship and teamwork, helping children feel included and connected
- Confidence-building challenges, where trying new things leads to pride and self-belief
These experiences help children develop independence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging, exactly what Children’s Mental Health Week aims to promote.
Inspiring Role Models and Safe, Sociable Spaces
Our carefully selected and trained staff act as positive role models, creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments where children feel encouraged to express themselves and grow. Through structured activities and shared experiences, camps offer children the opportunity to form friendships, practise social skills and feel part of a community.
Looking Ahead
By combining expert insight from YoungMinds with the positive, screen-free and active environments we create at camp, we’re supporting children’s mental wellbeing in meaningful, everyday ways - during Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 and beyond. This Easter and summer we will be back with our 'Ultimate Mile' fundraisers to help collect vital funds for YoungMinds to carry out their important work!
Because when children feel supported, connected and confident, they can truly say:
“This is my place, and Ultimate Activity Camps is a space I belong in.”
